Neurolateral and Neurotek
For EMDR Clinicians
If you have been doing a lot of EMDR, then you know your chiropractor quite well. That is, you probably have experienced some shoulder pain.
There are a number of tools that practitioners can use during reprocessing. They are available from Neurotek and Neurolateral. We have both in our office. (Kids call them the beep-beeps or the buzzies) From Neurotek a few of our clinicians use the wireless and from Neurolateral the software.

Relaxation & Meditation
Stressed out or anxious? Maybe someone- perhaps even in this office- suggested you try relaxation or meditation as a way to relax. If you live in the LA area you could join one of InsightLA’s free sitting groups or take a class in mindfulness meditation.
In the OC, St. Joseph’s hospital in Orange has free classes open to the community including stress management and yoga- see the Community Event calendar for current offerings. St. Jude in Fullerton also offers free community classes.
Maybe you are thinking that if you actually had the time to take a class on thinking about nothing, you would not be anxious or stressed out. If a class or group is not your style- well there are CD’s and- even better music downloads for your mp3 player/ipod.
In our office, we have recommended Dr. Emmett Miller’s audio CDs for years. An extensive selection is available through his website while a few of his tried and true are available through amazon at a discounted price and eligible for free shipping. Specifically,
Letting Go of Stress, has four 20 minute relation exercises on it that many of our clients have found helpful over the years.

If you want to try something else you can browse the Amazon mp3 downloads related to Meditation and Relaxation. There is probably something for everyone. Read More »

EMDR Casebook
EMDR: The Breakthrough “Eye Movement” Therapy for Overcoming Anxiety, Stress, and Trauma by Francine Shapiro and Margot Silk Forrest.
You may have discussed EMDR with your therapist. He/She may have discussed a book you should read. If you are being seen in our office, good chance this is the one. If your therapist lent you her copy of the book and you have lent it, lost it or written in it, here is your chance to purchase another.
Also available at your local bookseller.
